Off With Their Heads!
Lawson Quick Change™ Capsule System
 |
 |
Lawson
microphones were designed with versatility at the core. From the
very first prototype to current production models, Lawson capsules
and head assemblies have been interchangeable. We call it the Quick
Change™ Capsule System. It takes a couple of minutes to swap
out a Lawson capsule using no special tools. Your L251 can become
an L47MP and vice versa.
Here's
how it works. There are three Phillips-head screws that attach the
head to the microphone electronics (one on each side of the Lawson
logo and one in the back). The head interfaces to the microphone
electronics via a D-connector. Simply remove the three screws, pop
off the head, put on a different head by mating the connectors,
and reinsert the screws. It's that easy!
With the Lawson
Quick Change™ system, two microphones become four. For instance,
if you have the L251 and the L47FET, by swapping the heads you now
have the L47MP MKII and the L251FET. You have the sound of all four
microphones: the L251 tube mic, the L47MP MKII tube mic, the L251FET
and the L47FET.
