* 1997--Dr. Fred Bashour reviews the L47MP for the very first time. His phenomenal review of the L47MP appeared in Pro Audio Review and blew everyone away when he proclaimed the L47MP sounded "a lot more like a real Neumann" than the new Neumann M149. Dr. Fred gave the PAR Reviewer's Pick award to the L47MP.
* 1998--The Lawson L47S (replaced by the L47FET) is awarded the PAR Reviewer's Pick Award.
* 2000--John Gatski, editor of Pro Audio Review, presents Gene Lawson the PAR Excellence Award for the L251 microphone at the AES 2000. Each year at the AES, Pro Audio Review writers and editors peruse the aisles to find the latest and greatest pro audio gear. Ownership.
Since 1979, Lawson has been privately owned by the Lawson family. The company was founded by Gene Lawson with the purpose of reproducing superior audio gear, specifically his favorite microphones. Over the years, we have never strayed from that original mission. We believe that to design, create, and improve our products is the most satisfying way one could earn a living. All Lawson microphones are handcrafted, hand inspected, and built to be the best microphone you'll ever own.
